Joan of Art Multimedia Page The more I play, the more I discover that I see many things in the world— basically every thing— as raw materials for works of beauty and inspiration. On this page I provide a sampling for those who have expressed interest. For me the mission of art is to bring forth the divine inspiration that is calling me from within to come forth and be manifested into form. Beyond the flat surface of a canvas many pieces make known that they wish to come forth in any number of ways. To be at one with one's Muse is to ever be listening. In the creative process one steps out of space and time and allows the creative energy that is within to take over and so the end product is truly other-worldly and channeled in some magical way. Each creation is embodied with an intention that comes forward as I begin to gather the elements and as I am guided in the process. My Muse is nature and many times it is— a specific scent that draws me to the canvas, a place on the land, a certain fabric, texture, etc. I must create. Creating is not just a desire for me but a necessary part of my daily life. To stand idle when my spirit calls would be an insult to the power and magic that is alive within me. It would hurt the very core of my soul if I did not respond to the divine within me seeking to come forth. It is an act of love— divine love— that flows through me and which I offer up with humility and joy. I can only be in a state of gratitude as I am blessed with the opportunity. One of my greatest joys comes from sharing these creations with those who are drawn to them and to also inspire others to allow that divine creative energy within them to come forth more and more in their own unique and special way. Like the stone holding a sacred piece of art within it, each of us hold the same potential of spirit energy coming forth into form. I love creating altars— be they land altars to activate the power and magic of the land and the elementals that live there, or altars within the home, business or sacred space one lives and works within. Each altar holds an intention which the creator/s are invoking so that this intention may be empowered and nurtured to life. Through my art I find myself creating altars of consciousness all the time. Whether on canvas, in the form of sacred jewelry or blessing shawls with which to adorn the body, as rattles or multi-media pieces of art… each one is a sacred way of holding intention and prayers aimed at bringing more love, joy, peace, oneness and comfort to the environment, person or experience in which it co-exists. Goddess Art These Goddess Altars hold special messages incorporated into their titles. They are created with a variety of different tactile elements and hold a point of consciousness for manifestation. Dream Weaver Goddess of Grace & Abundance Manifesting Womb Blessings Tile Altars I find creating on tile to be fun as well as magical. Using the element of earth to hold intention is always so powerful for me. I listen to the earthen tile as I hold it in my hand and it guides me to the message it wishes to hold, as well as the elements I am to place upon it. Some are simple, some more complex… and all contain a bit of magic and charm. As coasters, small wall hangings, or placed as focal design elements where other tile is found, I think these are perfect gifts for those we cherish and upon whom we want to bestow special blessings. Portable Altars I love creating altars that you can take with you when you travel or squeeze into the tiniest nook. These are yet another evolution in my being guided toward creation of small, self-contained worlds of Spirit. They can hold within them a sacred fragrance or anointing oil: a companion element to these beautiful gifts can be a vial of fragrance that holds the intention of the altar. The Sacred Heart Goddess Rattle is sacred art that has also been created as a sacred tool to be used in special ceremonies, rituals, and celebrations, or in your daily Spiritual work and practice. As you allow them to be come part of your daily ritual work and assist in calling forth your offerings of gratitude, these tools will empower your own spirit and your connection to the sacred that lives within and all around you. Our bodies are our temples, and so creating special pieces of jewelry to empower the body temple and to honor its beauty is another way I enjoy creating sacred space. Prices vary depending on design, and selection of materials. Goddess Blessing Shawls. I love creating blessing shawls. These are ceremonial wraps with a blessing laced into each stitch. The textures, colors and intention are all part of the sacred energy that is contained in each one. I have been told by those who have received these as gifts or who have commissioned one, that they have actually felt the prayers and the love woven deep within. Each shawl is different and each shawl is guided by the spirit of the person that it is being created for. The one you resonate with… contains the message and support for which you have been waiting. Besides holding blessings and prayers for feline and canine companions, t hese custom pet scarves are quite the fashion statement! Commissions welcomed. Goddess Grimoires/Altered Books. There is nothing to me as beautiful as a sacred text created as an heirloom to pass forward to those you love. Can't you just remember lifetimes of candlelit excursions into page after gently turned page of secreted, musty parchment? It becomes an extension of you, and a work of art that will hold within it precious pieces of intimate wisdom, photo's, and everyday magic that can be shared and given to those future generations who shall inherit your mantle. Beyond mere “scrapbooking” this is how wise women through time have passed along their wisdom and their essence. I love the art and magic of creating temples of wisdom by way of these sacred books. Creating a sacred texts allows waves of inspiration to come forth as you lay down on each page layers of color, textures and valued information. I truly wish for every woman to make an opportunity to reclaim such a rite for herself. Creating a Sacred text is part of the Joan of Art Series. Look for classes being scheduled beginning in 2008. Sometimes other materials just call out to us to be crafted into the stuff of memory. The following are a sampling of gifts that have been made for special occasions and intentions, either as commissions or works patiently awaiting their intended owner. Birthday Basket. Here is a special gift created as a birthday gift for a newborn child. It was created as a ceremonial basket that is given each year to the child on her birthday. It will hold sacred gifts as the child grows and most importantly of all a love letter from the parents)s to the child that is shared on the birthday each year as a way of creating a sacred ceremony between parent(s) and child. Sacred Brooms. The brooms are blessings brooms created to hold a blessing for the home or the individual to whom it is given. These are great house warming gifts as well as being uniquely suited for any special occasion. These can be special ordered and adorned in many different motifs. His and Hers Chihuahua Hats. OK. So we at LunaBella are never too far removed from a bit of fun. We have been known in old neighborhoods to strut our stuff in designer hats as we walk the babies around the block. And we continue to dress to the nines for home-based red carpet walks on Oscar night, and sport our unique Easter bonnets, Mother's Day sun hats and… hey, we like to represent.
