Spirit le Fleur….
Your so handsome….I can’t stand it.

Our 12 year old dog, Spirit le Fleur is aging and each day I see him struggle with little things that use to come so easy to him. I watch him and I wonder--does he know what is happening? Is he aware of things changing?

I do all the things I know how to make him comfortable, but the fact remains – he is aging and I must accept this--as difficult as it is--so I can be there for him in a positive and uplifting way--as he has always been there for me.

I understand the emotional connection between owner and pet and I realize it is my reactions, attitudes, emotions that he responds to. It is my feelings towards his aging process that will create how he handles it. I pray each day to be strong and brave and I use my own aroamtic products to assist me in feeling calm, centered and balanced as we walk through this next stage our our realtionship together.

I believe our pets are very much intune and connected to our emotions and they can feel when we worry about them. They even at times try to make us feel better and do things that may be uncomfortable for them, just so we won’t worry about them.

I have seen many pets-- from working with my pet clients-- who are ill try to stay strong for their owners. They love us so much and sometimes they hold on longer just so we can adjust to what is happening.

Today on our walk Spirit fell a few times. His little legs are getting weak and arthritis has set in. As he fell each time he looked up at me as to say, “hey mom what is happening to me”---and at the same time he was waiting to see how I was going to respond.

I knew it was important for me to assure him it was okay, and so I said, “you are so handsome--- I can’t stand it”. I have told him that from the time I first laid eyes on him. A tiny little one pound rescue lying in a cold cage waiting to be put to sleep.

He loves it when I say that to him. It is our love banter between one another. It makes his eyes light up and his tail begins to wag and he knows---I am crazy about him. Then I always say to him “you are strong and healthy”. Words he has come to trust and that supports him to affirm his own life force. I also say this when I am pampmering him with his aromatic treatments.

Within a moment of hearing these words and feeling that I am okay he starts again.

There are so many things we as pet owners can do to assist our pets as they age. I believe the first thing is to begin with our own fears and attitudes towards the aging process of our pets. It is important we handle our emotions so we do not project them onto our pets. We have to find ways to stay strong and positive and keep the energy uplifted so our pets can age gracefully with our full and positive support.

I know that I am the one who has to adjust – not him. Pets have a way of understanding the life and death cycle--- the natural order of life.

I also believe that we can ease the aging process with natural products that can support the different ailments that begin to appear as our pets grow older.

That is why I created the Pet Alchemist – as a preventative and supportive system to assist pets staying healthy and to address the day to day conditions that may occur along the way.

As my beloved stands in front of me waiting for his nightly aromatic massage so he can settle in and have a more restful sleep – I feel grateful. How lucky I am to have him in my life. How much more I have experienced about the power of love because he is in my life.

I want to treasure every moment – so each day I support him with aromatic products to keep his immune system healthy, and to assit him as his body changes from one stage of life to another.

You too can empower your beloved companions health by taking a few moments each day to create an aromatic ritual that will improve his/her quality of life --naturally.

I believe that the power of aromatherapy has helped Spirit to have the quality of life that he has had - since he has always been a high risk dog. I am grateful for the plants and herbs of the earth -- and I am ever in awe of thier potential to assist us in being healthy.

As many of you know, I am madly in love with Spirit and all of our pets. Each day when I tell my little guy - "he's so handsome I can't stand it" I feel so blessed and full of joy - as well as grateful that he is still with me and I contribute alot of it to the power of plant spirit medicine.

I invite you to begin an aromatic journey with your pet/s. It's a beautiful experience and one that will create many beautiful moments of bonding for a life time of memories.

Pet Aromatic Massage for Supporting the Immune System

Place a few drops of your immune system blend in the palm of your hand and rub it into your pet’s coat first up the spinal area. Then gently massage outward. I like working the pads of the feet as well and he front of the chest area.

It takes just a few moments and the more consistent you are the better the results.
